Truth is the foundation of all effective communications. By being truthful, we build and maintain trust with the media and our customers, clients and employees. As professional communicators, we take very seriously our responsibility to communicate with honesty and accuracy. The Public Relations Society of America, the nation's largest communications association, sets the standard of ethical behavior for our 22,000 members through our Code of Ethics. Encouraging and perpetuating the use of alternative facts by a high-profile spokesperson reflects poorly on all communications professionals.

NMPRSA Announces 2015 Cumbre Award Winners

Annual Awards Recognize Outstanding Achievement by Communications Professionals

The New Mexico Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (NMPRSA) recently awarded its annual Cumbre Awards to communications professionals in New Mexico. This year, NMPRSA received 52 total entries, 45 of which received award honors.

The Cumbre Awards are given in two categories: tactics, for single public relations and communications tools; and campaigns, for comprehensive approaches that incorporate multiple communications tactics. Entries are judged against a standard on a 100-point scale, resulting in awards of Bronze, Silver and Gold. The highest scoring honoree for both tactics and campaigns is awarded Best of Show recognition. The 2015 awards were independently judged by the Central Iowa Chapter of PRSA.
