Join New Mexico PRSA for a discussion of public relations, leadership and ethics featuring 2017 PRSA Board Chair Jane Dvorak, APR, Fellow PRSA and 2017 PRSA Counselor’s Academy Chair Tom Garrity. Dvorak and Garrity will share their leadership best practices, and discuss how PR professionals can invest in themselves and their career while developing a trusted reputation. They will also share their perspective on how PR professionals can best serve their organizations and clients and lead them to smart business decisions.

Jane started JKD & Company in 1989 and has driven strategic communications programs for 30+ years. She coins herself a “consult-a-lancer,”© for the high level strategic counsel and the tactical support she provides to clients. Her skills span reputation management, community relations, crisis communications and strategic planning. Through a broad clientele base, she has been able to meet the growing and changing needs of organizations with energy, creativity and impact.
She is a leader in her profession and will serve as the 2017 National Chair of the Public Relations Society of America. She is an accredited member (APR) and was inducted into the College of Fellows in 2010. Among her accolades she is a 2016 and 2011 Silver Anvil winner, a Swede Johnson Lifetime Achievement recipient and PRSA Mentor of the Year. She is a past PRSA Western District Chair and Colorado Chapter president. She graduated from Colorado State University and lives in Lakewood, Colo.
Tom Garrity - Chair, PRSA Counselors Academy

For more than 20 years, Tom Garrity and the public relations firm that bears his name, has helped small businesses to be heard and large organizations to be understood. While The Garrity Group provides excellent media relation and community engagement services for companies and organizations with a presence in New Mexico, Tom’s passion is for issue management and crisis communications.
In 2012, Tom was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Mexico PRSA Chapter. Tom is currently the chairman of the PRSA Counselors Academy, is an alum of Texas Christian University and has two daughters.
