Ethical Challenges in Today’s Global Information World

September is Ethics Month for the Public Relations Society of America, and what better time to focus on the ethical dilemmas we as communicators and public relations professional face every day.

As communications professionals, ethics should be at the forefront of everything we do. But as the world moves closer to a global information and virtual environment, ethical challenges arise quicker and in different capacities than in the past.

Join the New Mexico Chapter of PRSA for a two-part series that will discuss these challenges and the vital role ethics plays within the daily practice of public relations.

Part 1

Join PRSA this Thursday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. MT (8 p.m. ET) for a Twitter chat discussing “Ethical Challenges in Today’s Global Information World.” Leading the discussion will be Brett Bruen, President of the Global Situation Room, Inc. and former Director of Global Engagement for President Barack Obama; and Kirk Hazlett, member of PRSA’s Board of Ethics and Professional Standards (BEPS) and Ethics Officer for the PRSA Tampa Bay Chapter.

Join the discussion by following PRSA on Twitter and using the hashtags #PRSAChat and #EthicsMonth.

Part 2

Participate in a FREE lunchtime discussion with NMPRSA on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 12-1 p.m. that will focus on key takeaways from the Twitter chat, including tips for ensuring factual and accurate information within two-way communications.

Deadline to register: Wednesday, September 23 at 5 PM. Register here. You will be provided with the meeting link and calendar invite upon registering.
