Give us a P-R-S-A!

P = Person

Hello! I am Kyle Biederwolf, and I am an External Affairs Manager for Comcast for our markets in New Mexico and Southern Arizona. My role is split between work in external communications and community impact for our markets. My efforts in external communications include social media management, content development, and media pitching and tracking.

Prior to joining the Comcast team, I was an alumni relations officer for the UNM – Anderson School of Management and an account executive for the KRQE Media Group. Outside of work, I hold a master’s degree in public administration, enjoy taking advantage of our local breweries with friends, captain a sand volleyball team, and am a proud dog-dad of a corgi/lab mix.

R = Recommend

I joined NMPRSA to improve my public relations skills and learn from New Mexico’s leaders in the field. I have not been disappointed, quite the opposite. I joined the board because I wanted to ensure that all public relations professionals have the same experience with the organization that I have had.

I have been fortunate to be mentored by individuals on the NMPRSA board like Annemarie Ciepiela Henton and Julianne Phares, and I wanted to help others discover the impact that NMPRSA can have on their careers, like they did for me.

S = Specialties

My specialties include passion, creativity, and relationship building. I love what I do, and my passion allows me to go above and beyond in my professional life. I pursue opportunities that bring me passion to inspire the work that I do.

I also love working with people. People are what get me out of bed in the morning, and I enjoy meeting and building relationships with leaders across the community. Last, I try to bring a creative mindset into everything that I do. As a young professional, I bring a different perspective to most conversations and decisions, and I always try to make those perspectives as creative as possible.

A = Advice

There is not a road map for public relations. Most of us are put in situations where we must think on our toes every day. In those times of change, it is extremely important to start with taking care of yourself. To help others or a situation, you must completely understand yourself and what you can bring to the table. This will allow you to focus on what you can control and let go of what you cannot. This is in your professional and personal life. Self-care is essential for working through any type of change that the world throws at you.
