Founded in 1958, the New Mexico Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (NMPRSA) provides professional development and networking opportunities to New Mexico’s communications and public relations professionals. We have a rich history focused on an enduring purpose to unite the profession, improve the practice, and encourage understanding and acceptance of public relations among all constituencies.
The chapter generally meets monthly and sponsors regular professional development seminars and networking events that feature industry experts and speakers who share their experiences in communications and public relations activities.
New Mexico Chapter members have access to national PRSA resources, including magazines and newsletters, group insurance, the public relations body of knowledge, webinars, and other continuing education materials. Members also benefit from discounted luncheon events and may participate in local and national public relations awards contests.
PR Professional Development
New Mexico PRSA offers guidance and mentorship for those seeking their Accreditation in Public Relations or APR. Members with five or more years of experience may qualify for the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) certification, a professional certification that indicates knowledge of public relations principles, ethics and techniques.
An APR credential certifies your drive, professionalism, and principles, setting you apart from your peers and positioning you as a leader and mentor in the competitive public relations field.
Additionally, NMPRSA offers an up-to-date Job Center both for those employers seeking communications and PR professionals, and those seeking employment in the field.
